The UK Thomson TiVo requires a TiVo subscription (Currently £10 PCM, or £199 Lifetime of the unit).

With this subscription paid, the TiVo comes alive.

It is very difficult to put into words the facilities of the UK TiVo, but to say it will change the way you watch Television, is an understatement.

You can view the TV guide, and with a couple of clicks the program will be scheduled to record, you can tell it to record a 'Season Pass', say 'The Simpsons' the TiVo will then record every episode and change channels on your chosen Digital box, or terrestrial channel as and when required.

Obviously the live TV Pause.

Also the TiVo has A.I. (Artificial Intelligence). It will learn from your television habits, through what types of channels you watch, and also the 'Thumbs' Up and Down from your remote. You give the programs you like a Thumbs Up rating or programs you dislike a Thumbs Down. So when you are away at work, or asleep the TiVo will step in change channels on you receiver and record Suggestions for you later. It is great to come in from work and see what the TiVo has recorded based on what you like and watch.
