TiVo Upgrades

There are a few ways to upgrade your TiVo, but I will be mainly offering the most common of these, the Hard Drive.

The Hard drive is normally the first thing to fail in a hard drive recorder, this is because the unit is continuously reading and writing to the hard disk drive 24hrs a day. If your TiVo is locking up, has SW errors causing it to reboot, clinking and clunking at the same time the picture locking up, it is most likely the hard drive is beginning to fail.

Uk TiVo's come in a few different versions related to your service number in the System Information Menu.

And will be of the format 023-0000-????-xxxx . The ???? represents the model and xxxx your unique reference.

Your standard TiVo will provide approximately 12Hr at highest quality and 40Hrs at basic.

I currently provide sales of 1 x 120GB HDD preloaded with the UK TiVo 2.5.5 (Latest) software, this is a direct new replacement drive which will provide approximately 137hrs at basic and 40hours at highest quality recording.
